PL 205--Legal Research
In class today, Thursday 9/27, we continued working on the latest Digest research assignments. These assignments do not have any set due date, but are due when they are done. There will be a certain number that must be done by the end of the semester, though, so it is important not to get behind.

In class today, Tuesday 9/25, we went over the use of Digests, and the research format that I want you to use. I collected the first research assignments, and distributed additional research assignments. The assignment for Thursday 9/27 is to work on those additional research assignments.

PL 205--Legal Research
In class today, Thursday 9/20, I handed back the statutory research papers. I handed out a format for doing Digest research, and gave everyone a Digest research project. The assignment for Tuesday 9/25 is to work on that Digest research project.

In class today, Tuesday 9/18, we went over the statutory research questions. The assignment for Thursday 9/20 is to review your readings on secondary authority in Chapter 5 of the text.

PL 205--Legal Research
In class today, Tuesday 9/11, we finished going over the questions at the end of Chapter 1. We did an abbreviated tour of the Husson
Library legal materials. I distributed individual statutory research
questions, and a statutory research format sheet. The assignment for
Tuesday 9/18 is to do the assigned research question, and write it up
following the format sheet to be handed in (but just graded done or not
done) on 9/18. You may e-mail me with any questions that you may have
regarding the research. A reminder that there will be no class meeting
on Thursday 9/13.

PL 205--Legal Research

In class today, Thursday 9/6, we finished our discussion of the review questions handout. We started our discussion of the concepts of chapter 1 of the text. On Tuesday, 9/11 we will finish our discussion of questions 4 and 5 at the end of chapter 1. I also distributed 1 handout about correct citation form for Maine and federal court cases. The assignment for Tuesday is to read in chapter 5 of the text pp 132- 167.

PL 205--Legal Research

In class today, Tuesday 9/4, I distributed and we discussed 4 handouts: a letter about the writing center, a list of websites, the syllabus, and some review questions. We reviewed the questions up through question 7. On Thursday 9/6 we will finish the review questions. The assignment is to read Chapter 1 in the textbook, and to prepare to discuss assignments 4 and 5 on pages 23-24.
