PL 305--Legal Ethics
In class tonight, Thursday 1/21, I distributed three handouts: the syllabus, an excerpt from the Maine Rules of Professional Conduct, and excerpts from Maine statutes and administrative regulations regarding paralegal designation, and authorized and unauthorized practice of law. We also went over both federal and state court organization, and statutory and case law citation format. The assignment for Thursday 1/28 is to read chapter 1 and 2 in the text, and also to read the Maine Supreme Court case of Board of Overseers v. Lee, 422 A.2d 998, which you can access through www.westlaw.com
