PL 305--Legal Ethics
In class tonight, Tuesday 1/25, I went over some basics of our legal system, including Maine and federal court organization, citation format for Maine cases prior to 1997, Maine statutory citation form, and the mebaroverseers.org website. We went over the concepts of Chapter 1 of the text, and I also talked about two Maine Supreme Court decisions, Board of Overseers v. Lee and Board of Overseers v. Williams. The assignment for next Tuesday, 2/1, is to read and prepare to discuss Chapter 3 of the text, with special emphasis on the cases at the end of the chapter.

PL 305--Legal Ethics
In class on this snowy night, I distributed four handouts; the syllabus, the Maine Rules of Professional Conduct(MRPC), a questionnaire regarding honesty and cheating, and selected excerpts from Maine statutes and regulations regarding paralegals and the practice of law. We went over the syllabus, and took and discussed the questionnaire. The assignment for Tuesday 1/25 is to read and prepare to discuss Chapters 1 and 2 of the text, and also Rule 5.3 of the (MRPC).
