PL 301--Torts
In class tonight, Wednesday 12/2, I distributed 2 statutory handouts, one an excerpt from the Maine Tort Claims Act, and the other the Maine product liability statute. After going over the concepts of Chapter 11, I discussed the history of litigation against the Roman Catholic Bishop of Portland(RCBP), with two prior cases, Swanson v. RCBP, 1997 ME 63, and Fortin v. RCBP, 2005 ME 57. We then spent the rest of the class going over the assigned case for tonight, Picher v. RCBP. The assignment for Monday, 12/7 is to read the handouts, read Chapter 12 of the text, and read the case of St. Germain v. Husqvarna, 544 A.2d 1283 (Me., 1988)
